4 Kadhal Kondaen - Tamil Music

STARRING : DANUSH, SONIA           DIRECTOR : SELVARAGAVAN      AUDIO : Five Star Audio

MUSIC : YUVAN SHANKAR RAJA        LYRICS : N.a.MuthuKumar, Palanibarathi

 NANJILONLINE RATING

The second venture of the "Thulluvatho Ilamai" team, who made everyone raise their eyebrows by their trendsetter, blockbuster film produced in shoestring budget is Kadhal Kondaen. Yuvan's youthful music was one of the main reasons for the success of the film and here too, Yuvan's involvement is apparent.

A good thing about this album is quality of the lyrics. Both Pazhani Bharathi and N.a.Muthukumar have done a decent job for this movie. Thanks to Fivestar audio for releasing this album at a low price and it's already selling like hotcakes. This may revive the sagging music industry which is seriously hit by piracy

The album begins with "Devadaiyai Kandaen" beautifully rendered by Harish Ragavendra. The song is penned by Na.Muthukumar. Harish's voice is very charming and the slight nasalization adds to the feel of the song. This is a very catchy number which will get on you on first listening itself and going to be a definite hit because of simple lyrics and good bgm.

Next comes "Manasu rendum" sung by Shankar Mahadevan and lyrics by Pazhanibarathi. Nowadays Shankar Mahadevan's voice features in every album of Yuvan. Here too the pair has come out in flying colors. He strains a bit to imitate Yuvan's way of singing at places. The first part of the song is more interesting and enjoyable.

And the final song in side A is a cool melody "Nenjodu" by Sujatha and UnniKrishnan takes off with nice piano and guitar bits and the songs is sure to steal many hearts. After a long time, we get to hear the mesmerizing voices of Unni krishnan and Sujatha in a song.

Side B starts of with Kaadhal Mattum Purivathillai sung excellently by Vijay Jesudas and clean lyrics by Pazhanibarathi. The song is a peppy one which is sung effortlessly by Vijay Jesudas. His voice is very much under his control that it easily soars to high pitch and comes down casually. This song is also one of the best songs of the album fighting with the first song for top honors.

"Thottu Thottu" again by Harish Ragavendra is a variety song but is sounds similar to a song released earlier and the theme music which comes up next, which resembles interludes from "Poi solla" song from April Mathathil, played in fast tempo.

Finally the album ends in a bad manner with Yuvan once again trying to do A.R.Rahman with the song 18 vayathil which he has sung. The song begins with the beats which will remind you of the FTV style Bailamore song in "Kaadhal Virus". Better Yuvan should stop singing and spoiling his own songs.

The recording quality is amazingly good compared to other recent Yuvan's albums. Except for the "18 vayadhil" song, all the songs are worth hearing many times which have decent and poetic lyrics.

After the huge success of Thulluvatho illamai, Yuvan has continued the same way and worked with the same involvement in this album too.

WOW! : Yuvan's Music and Nice clean Lyrics
Oops! : The last song sung by Yuvan.
