  Ajit’s "G" starts rolling! - Nov 10

Ajit has started work on the Linguswamy directed G in Thiruvananthapuram. After the debacle of Anjaneya the actor is a worried man and has now taken his career more seriously.

The press had gone overboard with stories that the main problem with Anjaneya was that the film looked like a quickie as though Ajit was in a hurry to finish the film.

And the big news is that, Amoga the Jay Jay girl who was supposed to be Ajit’s heroine in G has been replaced by Trisha Krishnan. The role of the heroine is very crucial to the proceedings and the makers felt that Trisha was a better option than the Mumbai girl.

Meanwhile Trisha’s career is going strong as she is doing Gilli (with Vijay), Mani Ratnam’s Ayutha Ezhuthu and a Telugu film.

According to Trisha: “When G was offered to me in the last minute, I accepted it without batting an eyelid as it is a dream-come-true for me to act opposite Ajit”.

  Rajnikanth`s next film - Nov 8

More than a year after the debacle of Baba, Rajnikanth has decided to do Ayya, which will be directed by Hari, the current flavour of ‘masala’ movies.

News filtering out from sources close to Rajnikanth say that the shooting would start after Hari completes Arul with Vikram. Ayya will be Rajni’s Diwali 2004 release.

Hari’s strength always lies in his strong storyline and the way he packages it with commercial ingredients. His last two films Tamizh and Saamy were hits, and now with Kovil starring Silambarasan and Sonia Agarwal, he hopes to strike a hat trick at the box-office.

At the Saamy 125th day celebrations Rajnikanth had praised Hari to the skies and said in his speech that this young director is good at making racy and entertaining films to suit the taste of the common man. He even said that the placement of songs, fights and punchline dialogues were inserted into the story of his films in the right manner.

Rajni wanted Hari to start Ayya in November so that it can be released for April 5th 2004 which he feels is his lucky date (Padayappa was released in 1999 on the same date). But Hari was clear that it was not possible and his priorities right now are with Arul.

Devyani on Telly - Nov 9
Bhanupriya was the first heroine to migrate from films to telly. She acted in a mega daily soap Shakthi, produced by Nimbus Television and telecast on Sun TV, which gave her more popularity than the films. Many other heroines including Sukunya, Gauthami, Suvalaxmi, Ambika, Radhika, and Kushboo came onto the small screen. Roja who was then still having a fan following acted in a daily soap for Vijay TV. The latest one to join the bandwagon is Devyani. After Bhishmar, there is no offer in Tamil for Devyani. Now, Viktan Vistas signed Devyani for their forthcoming daily soap. Buzz has it that she has been offered a whopping Rs.50000/- per episode and three months advance is already been paid. It has to be seen whether Devyani will prove to be a crowd puller like Radhika or wind up like Roja. Lets wait and watch!
